Where Did Autumn Go?!?

It's October 7th in interior Alaska and it's been snowing for 2 days straight! Where did autumn go? It was still summer a week ago! (Well, sort of.) Here are a few images of summer in Alaska. They were taken at 3 in the morning one chilly July day.

Take away all that green stuff and replace it with white, and you'll have some idea of what I'm living through right now! Half a foot of snow will make Halloween impossible (once again). There are only so many costumes you can wear in subzero weather - and it's getting there, too! Although even when walking the dogs, I'm currently still in shorts. Twenty degrees isn't so bad - give it a few more weeks.

Good bye summer, hello winter! Forget Halloween - it looks like Christmas!

Wow, and hardly any trees either. (well not in this picture). I find dressing as the following will allow kids to go outside on Halloween:

marshmello
grape
that big ghost at the end of ghostbusters
a robot (allows for any clothes under those boxes).
