I also thought I'd share a work-in-progress. It's not 100% complete yet, but this is one of my Seacats designs, he's a little fantasy critter named Rainy. For all Seacats work, I use what's called a "Seacat palette" which consists of "prehistoric" colors. This way colors remain consistent from one image to the next. I love color palettes and I'd say that in total I probably have over 30 different palettes I choose from at any given time. And I am always creating more!
I'll be sure to upload this design when it's completed, to show you how it turns out!
