Right before the heat wave (it went up from 40 below zero to 40 above in under 72 hours!), I was working on a spread featuring my Seacats characters. Although the setting of the story is on an island to begin with, I couldn't help but laugh that I live in Alaska, where it's anything but tropical nine months out of the year, and here I am in the dead of winter - 40 below zero outside - illustrating characters on a beach! What wishful thinking that is! Well, at least it helps me stay warm, being on a beach, if only in my mind.
The Seacat named Tattle (left) is always ticked off about something. Every party has a pooper and he's guaranteed to be it in this gang. :)
I hope everyone's having a good start to the new year. With the temperature now in the low-to-mid-30's, I'm having a blast. Went to the store the other night and everyone was in a t-shirt! If only it'd stay like this til summer! But I know that's wishful thinking and it's most definitely not going to happen.
I look forward to any comments you may have, and thanks for dropping by today! :)

I like it has nice a feel to it.
Thanks, Stephen! =)
The sketchy style looks softer...it gives the illustration movement.
Reading further.... I had to chuckle to read that an illustrator in Alaska is wrtiting a tropical story!!!
It's adorable.
Hey Chrissy, I'm just dropping by to say "Hello" I like the sketch look and the Seacat layout is cute.
Thanks, Roberta!
Tamara - "Hello" to you too and thanks for the comment. Hope you've been doing well - drop me an email sometime. =)
I like it! I've actually been tinkering with the same look lately - haven't quite got the hang of it yet though. ;)
Don't I know it, Steve! I'm glad to hear more people like it. Have been working on some of my regular stuff and then I'm going to have to play around with a few more sketchy characters again, if I can find the time. =)
